Indeed it is, though unfortunately I don’t have any further details beyond another one of the shop’s posts offering up a better look: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1303600783051412&set=a.127956970615805.30626.100002045096152&type=3&theater

Oh, this I’ve got to know. How much does it cost to retro-fit a non-LSD Miata with an LSD?
I’ve bought three used Miatas so far, a ‘93, a ‘99 and an ‘04. Only the ‘04 had an LSD, and I can really tell the difference, particularly in the rain. But whenever I’ve looked at new Miatas for the past decade, I always saw the desirable base model at the best price, with the low price and the valuable absence of a lot of crap I absolutely do not want on my car (e.g. keyless entry, oversized rims, ugly plastic “aero” trim) but lacking the LSD. And then for about $3000 more I see a model loaded down with all that crap I don’t want at all, but if I want an LSD I have to buy that model. So if I could get a base Miata and add an LSD for a reasonable price that’s what I’d really want.

There are a lot of options available, but my cost breakdown was approximately as follows:
OSGiken Superlock LSD: $1300 (It’s normally one of the most expensive options at $1500-1600 but I found one new-in-box that someone gave up on installing. Other LSDs will run you in the $900-1200 range)
1L can of OSGiken Magic Pixie Dust and Unicorn Fart Diff Oil: $90
OEM bearings + oil seals: $170
Labor: $675
Total: ~$2250
Most people just swap in a whole, used, OEM LSD pumpkin though, which is a MUCH less expensive option and considerably more DIY friendly. Even with shop labor, I’d estimate the cost of one of those being 1/2 to 2/3 what I paid.

I’ve been thinking about the OSGiken. Waiting eagerly to hear about it, is this a track only or general fun car?

It’s primarily a 3-season, good weather daily driver + autocross car (aiming for 10-12 events per year with the local SCCA region after starting a little over a year ago). I should be able to develop some semblance of an informed opinion about it after this weekend’s test and tune + autocross events.
